Defining Lot Control

This means implementing high-quality systems that allow us to effectively scale and manage our production line. It’s why CustomFabUSA has been able to expand into a leading domestic manufacturer while exceeding the high standards that we—and our customers—insist upon.

An important element of this strategy is known as Lot Control. It’s the ability to easily identify and locate incoming and outgoing batches of merchandise, also known as Lots.

And with 77,000 square feet of manufacturing space and hundreds of machine operators, we’ve got lots of Lots!

With Lot Control, the Lost Ark wouldn’t be lost for long.

The way it works is our Quality Control team assigns each Lot its own tracking number, so with a few keystrokes, we’re able to unearth a trove of data. Lot Control allows us to pinpoint exactly when a product was produced, the materials in it, the people who made it, where it’s located on the factory floor, when it’s going to be shipped, and where it’s going to go.

Knowing the type and quantity of materials we have available means we’re able to accurately predict delivery dates and reduce the likelihood of logistical errors that can delay fulfillment.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Thanks to the data provided by Lot Control, our inspectors have a much easier job when examining products using the ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 standard. It also allows us to more easily adhere to ISO 9001 quality management specifications.

As bad as a recall is, it’s even worse to be unprepared if one occurs. We’re mindful of the fact that in the rare .01% event there’s a product error, it needs to be tracked and rectified quickly, as it can sometimes mean the difference between life or death for the first responders and medical professionals that rely on the products we manufacture.

RECALLS

Lot Control allows us to quickly isolate any defective batches, and diagnose the nature of the problem using the data produced by the Lot.
